Administration

We can be reached via email only for scheduling purposes, non-urgent medication refills or other administrative concerns. Email in general should not be used for any clinical issues, as these are best addressed in appointments or on the telephone. Any phone calls, emails or texts received in between appointments will be charged at our discretion in accordance with our fee structure.
If we are on vacation, we can be reached via email on a more limited basis for any urgent concerns.
If you are uncertain of your appointment time, please do not hesitate to contact us via email. You may cancel your appointments by sending an email. The exception to this policy is a regional weather emergency or the unexpected onset of illness. Please note however, that frequent or repeated cancellations due to illness will be billed at our discretion.
We are unable to offer treatment services for patients who have a Psychotic Disorder or who are currently at high risk for suicide, safety issues or have a history of numerous inpatient hospitalizations. This is because we are solo practice psychiatrists offering services via videoconferencing and will not have the capability to provide the right care for these conditions, given that these will require team-based in-person care.
Please note that our services are not covered by any provincial health plans and are fully out-of-pocket. This allowed us to provide a high quality service and provide appointments much faster than psychiatrists in the provincial system.
Pricing documentation and information will be provided in an information packet once our screening process is complete and potential patients are deemed to be suitable for our services.
The best way to reach us is by email. We will check our emails periodically throughout the business day and most emails will be returned within one business day. In the event you do not receive a return email, please call or email again. However, if you are having an emergency and cannot reach me, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room.

If you are late for an appointment, you will be seen for the remainder of your time and charged for the full session as scheduled. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please give 48 hours advance notice (weekends and holidays excluded), otherwise you will be charged the full fee for the time that was reserved for you.
For example, if you have an appointment on Wednesday morning, you will need to call to cancel by it by Monday morning to avoid charges. If you have an appointment on Monday morning, you will need to call to cancel by the previous Thursday morning to avoid charges. You will be responsible for the full amount of the session if you fail to keep an appointment or have a late cancellation, as I would be unable to use that time for other patients who may need it.
